The first time I went after a plank record, I fell short and ended up on the gym floor thinking I wasn't strong enough. My buddies picked me up. I trained, I came back, and on June 8, 2026, right here in Longview, the official stopwatches read 50:04.58.
That made me an official Guinness World Records title holder for the longest time in the straight arm abdominal plank position (male), confirmed on September 10, 2026.
Then the messages started coming in. Strangers telling me they got back up too. That's when I knew it wasn't about me anymore. Ninety percent of it is mental. Ten percent is doing the work.
Next up: the longest plank ever, 9 hours, 38 minutes and 47 seconds. I'm going for 10 hours.
